I think the female force seeks the "no space between" but the male seeks to always preserve a sliver of separation and it is this tension that creates the attraction. This is a theory of mine, similar to how a small drop of black paint can make a can of white paint appear whiter.
I didn’t know that about paint! how very interesting… something to ruminate on this morning.
As a woman who love intense and deep closeness… but also requires a lot of space, I agree with you. I am thinking of Jung’s central idea of the tension of opposites which, creates the desire for union; without the space there would be no desire.
I am also thinking of the tantric creation story in which shiva is just an open field of blissful consciousness for eons — then, one day he feels the heartbeat of kama, the god of desire, and summons his eternal lover, Shakti.
Shakti proceeds to stir up fire, water, earth, and air in a magic cauldron with Shiva inside of it, and finally reveals the final element, is the cauldron itself —space…
The last thing i am reminded of is this idea that we’re always keeping secrets from ourselves. That what makes it so interesting, I think. I was reading a book called SoulMates recently and the author wrote about how we are always in some way seeking to connect with the mystery lover through the actual lover. I thought, wow, I’ve never heard anything more accurate.
I think the idea is integrating those forces within ourselves so we’re not trying to merge into a singular blob with the other but instead can hod them loosely and appreciate and love them (and ourselves) as we are
That was a good study.

Yeah, the united blob concept is what a teenager seeks but soon enough we want autonomy
ha! I wanted autonomy much later than sooner 🙃
The breaking and the healing of heart. ♥️
