the body wants flow
an ode to the rhythm
The body demands creative exploration. We suffer when the mind says no.
•••
Fitness creates agility, sensitivity, the ability to stop on a dime, bend, pivot, lift, release gently into the earth, flow back into the cycle, reemerge, renew, reveal.
Fitness creates the ability to feel and sense and know without words, without question.
Fitness is love, devotion, respect, connection.
Fitness is flow and structure and their necessary weaving.
Fitness is willingness, growth, openness.
•••
Physically speaking… the body wants flow.
The best training sessions appeal to the senses — mitigate the mind’s banter and focus on the feeling. For how else does one know whether the challenge is sufficient for muscle to grow?
The spreadsheet contains no nerve endings. Nor does the mind, interpreting sensation, know what it really means.
One must enter the pulse — the groove — the rhythm — the beat of muscles contracting, lengthening, sending feedback through spinal column.
One must listen to the muscle. Invite the mind into blood swollen tissue. Respect the energy given and effort produced.
One must love and nourish the body — repair the ruptures day out and day in. Kintsugi the cells with adequate amino acids and just the right balance of carbs and lipids.
One must remember to rest well and often, and to honor the creative spirit that brought her to the iron temple where the journey commences.

Be well my friends.
In whey may you trust.
Unless you’re vegan.
Then remember to eat your beans with your rice to get all essential amino acids ;)

Awesome!!! Love this! I've been on a river for two days with my dog, fly fishing in the mountains way North of San Francisco where I live, and 'flow' is high in my mind and deep in my and my dog's muscles!!!
such a witty but profound chic.
