The point of the dance, is to dance

AWAKEN THE CREATRIX - day 3

Today’s exercise is easy peasy. Unless you hate music… in which case I don’t think we can be friends.

Music and dance are powerful technologies of liberation, used since the dawn of humanity to connect, awaken, release, reveal, inspire, and heal.

They serve our joy, playfulness, and freedom in more ways than we can imagine… and while listening alone works its fair share of magic, dancing — the act of embodiment, of being moved, taking form, animating music — deepens the experience, creating new pathways and patterns in the body that work directly with the subconscious.

Just as entering the realm of the Creatrix can feel at the same time nonsensical and beyond any form of “sanity” you’ve ever known, dance doesn’t have to “make sense” to make sense.

SO, today’s invitation is this:

Make your Creatrix a playlist.
Then DANCE. Dance with her every day.
Even if it’s just for one song.

As you create your playlist, allow the Creatrix to guide you. Some familiar favorites may already be slithering through your mind and claiming their space in your digital library; she’s already at work, seducing you into the soundwaves…

Let her throw some curveballs to you, too — songs you wouldn’t normally listen to, but that stir something within — awaken something new, primal, hungry. Go down a rabbit hole or two, noticing songs that make you start moving instinctively, songs you feel in your hips, your heart, your feet, your belly. Song that make you wanna throw your hands up in the air (like you just don’t care. Except you do care. You do!).

Have fun with it. Play. And as your relationship with the Creatrix evolves, remember you can edit, rearrange, add, take away, destroy, and recreate, honoring the transformation you’ve invited.
